Pickle, a roughly 12 year old standard john donkey came with the herd of rescues in 2023. Pickle arrived as a scared & unsure of humans boy. As time goes on, he has become so much more confident with humans & loves the snacks they come with! In 2024, we realized during his dental exam that his teeth needed some extra help. We sent him to Midwest Veterinary Dental to have a more thorough exam of his teeth done. Needing all 12 of his front teeth removed, Pickle is happier & healthier today. He can still eat hay & grazes healthily. Pickle is UTD on all vet & Farrier work.

Cheddar came to the Sanctuary in 2024 when we noticed Pickle was depressed. Pickle arrived to us as a jack, & at 12ish years old, he was quite the pistol! He's since been castrated & has really come around to love humans. Aside from needing to be castrated, Cheddar has been an all around healthy mini john donkey & is UTD on all vet & Farrier work!

We insist these two find their forever home TOGETHER. They are tightly bonded, & as donkeys, this is a relationship that will hold tight to the end. 

Their adoption fee is $1,200 as a pair.
